DAMIAN
TOAL
Damian Toal is a multimedia artist whose practice spans video, painting, digital art, and installation. Working both independently and in collaboration, he creates screen-based, site-specific, and performance-led projects that cross boundaries between disciplines. He studied Fine Art and Sequential Design at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with screenings and installations which include the New York Film Festival, Sheffield Film Festival, Brighton Festival, the Tate, The Bartlett, and The Metropole Art Collection.
Damian’s paintings are particularly recognised for capturing the shifting light and dramatic forms of the Irish coastline and the South Coast of the UK. Inspired by atmospheric changes and the natural world, his practice explores memory, perception, and our sense of place.
Through exhibitions and artist residencies, he continues to expand a body of work that unites the still and moving image, offering audiences experiences at the intersection of fine art and multimedia expression.
